Help Give Life a Fighting Chance!

What one heart cannot bear alone, a hundred loving hearts can bear with faith.

A personal challenge for myself and from me to you . . .

The “Life is Hard” Challenge

by:  Deanna Bounds-Ross

Surely after all we’ve experienced and been through in our own lives, we can understand what it’s like to:

  • have or deal with difficulties
  • go through rough times
  • even to experience  great tragedies in our lives
How did you feel (how do you feel) when going through such things?

I don’t know about you, but I for one, would have appreciated a little mercy from those around me.  Even though they had no idea what was going on in my life, it still would’ve made things a lot less worse if the people I had to run across while doing chores, attending Dr. appointments, and so on ………basically, living my life each day, if people would’ve treated me kindly along the way.

Here is the Challenge:

The next time someone gives you a dirty look, treats you poorly, provides lousy customer service ……whatever anyone does that you find irritating or upsetting:

  1. Treat them with kindness and respect in response.
  2. Make it a point to sincerely pray for them!

There are two things I certainly know for sure:

  1. Hurting People, Hurt People!!
  2. Prayer Changes Lives!!

I feel this challenge has been placed on my heart as not only a personal challenge, but one I am to pass along to others.  Pray about it.  If you too feel this challenge is meant for you, God Bless You and guide you in your sharing each and every day!

Daily.  That was the hardest part for me to get past.  That’s quite a commitment, I know.  But, I also know that if God is charging me with it, He will also provide me the words, encouragement and strength to get it done each day.

So, just what is:

The Daily
Unlock a Door & Pass Along the Key
Challenge

The truth is that most of us, if not all, have experienced difficulties, even tragedies, in our lives.  With statistics and facts staring us in the face each and every day, such as:

  • 1 in every 5 people has their identity stolen.  1 in every 5!
  • 1 in every 3 students in High School will at some point know a family member or friend who is addicted to drugs or alcohol!
  • 1 in every 12 people will become dependent on drugs or alcohol.  1 in 12!
  • 1 in every 4 children will be molested by a family member or a friend of the family.
  • Over half of all marriages will  end in divorce.

and so on, and so on, and so on.

The point is ………..you get the picture.  With odds like those, it would be extremely rare that someone would not have some story, some difficulty, some tragedy along their way somewhere.

We are all “damaged”; we all have a story ………or 4 or 10.

So…..

What does all of this have to do with The Challenge?

By sharing a story or even a simple inspiration –> it doesn’t even have to contain any details about your experience(s).  Just a simple inspiration even; maybe some inspiration that helped you through, helped you to keep moving forward , one foot in front of the other.  Even if you are still struggling!  We are all works in progress; never finished.

I can assure you that someone, somewhere out there will be able to relate in some way to your story or inspiring words.  And, probably for a totally different reason.  That’s ok!

The point of the challenge is two-fold:

  1. To help me, you and anyone who takes up the challenge, to continue to grow from it, learn from it and eventually break free of it……. let go of the parts of it that have held us with strongholds, hurt us, damaged us, or made us sick.                                        - and -
  2. To help another soul to do the very same.

I give Praise and Thanks to God for placing this Challenge upon my heart and for not letting up until I picked up the cross and agreed.

So, Thank you, Jesus!

I, like anyone, am sure I will fall short at times.  But, I ask God and you, my readers, and of course all of my fellow Challenge Keepers, to keep me on task and to call me on it when I fail to post!  Thanks to all and love to all,

Deanna
